Asharqia Chamber urges tourism and travel offices to facilitate the procedures of citizens who are wishing to change their destination from Turkey to other countries.

Al-Khaldi: The harassment of the Saudis in Turkey is a result of the hostility of the Turkish government and its media towards the Kingdom.

Asharqia Chamber urges tourism and travel offices and companies in the Eastern Region and all regions of the Kingdom to facilitate procedures for those who are wishing to modify their reservations or change their destination from Turkey to other countries that respect their visitors and protect their lives and property.

He also urges the citizens themselves to not to go to Turkey and planning to spend their summer holidays, whether in local destinations or in other countries are able to provide protection and safety for them due to the background of the harassment and threats that have been suffered recently by many Saudi citizens, whether they were visitors went to Turkey for tourism or investors in Turkey.

The chairman of Asharqia Chamber Abdul Hakim bin Hamad al-Ammar al-Khaldi said that many ordinary Saudi citizens or investors have been subjected to a lot of duress, theft, extortion and threats when they visit Turkey during the year 2019.

He pointed out that the frequency of harassment and threats have risen a lot against Saudi citizens in recent times, and it is an extension of the hostility of the current Turkish government and some of the Turkish media towards the Kingdom and its leadership.

Al-Khaldi pointed out to the statement of the Saudi Embassy in Turkey, which stressed the number of problems and threats faced by citizens, whether in the field of real estate in Turkey, such as lack of access to the title of ownership or acquisition of title deeds restricted by mortgage, in addition to preventing them from entering their homes despite paying the full value of the property and threatened by the contracting companies, and not to deliver them on time, which was agreed in the contracts between the citizen and the real estate company.

He pointed out that the Saudi tourists and investors are not completely safe there and that the Chamber by virtue of its position and responsibility appealed to the citizens and business sector again the risk of going and investing in Turkey, especially at the current stage, where there are many cases of exposure to Saudi citizens.

Al-Khaldi stressed that the hostile practices against the Saudis in Turkey will have a negative impact on the direction of the future Saudis, whether they are investors or tourists there because it will undoubtedly limit the Saudi tourist's trip there, as well as the retreat of the Saudi investor from investing there.
